Macrophotography is extreme close-up photography, usually of very small subjects and living organisms like insects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size. A "true" macro photograph can be more practically defined as a photograph with a vertical subject height of 24 mm or less. When a regular 6x4 inch (15x10 cm) print is made, the image is life-size or larger.

913th JuneBoat and BoatingPrinted ImageRon TearPOTY Images are restricted to boats, boating and associated paraphernalia. Ships are not included in this competition. Here below are some helpful definitions: ? Definition of a boat - A vessel for transport by water, constructed to provide buoyancy by excluding water and shaped to give stability and permit propulsion. Boats operate in smaller and or restricted water areas and include ferrying and towing vessels, sailing vessels, paddle vessels, submarines, kayaks, canoes, patrolling & fishing vessels etc. Definition of a Ship - A ship can carry a boat, but a boat cannot carry a ship. Ships are vessels that are operated in oceanic areas and high seas. They usually include cruise vessels, naval ships, tankers, container ships, Ro-Ro ships, and offshore vessels. They are mainly built for cargo and or passenger transportation. ? Definition of Boating: Boating is the leisurely activity of travelling by boat, or the recreational use of a boat whether powerboats, sailboats, or man-powered vessels (such as rowing and paddleboats), focused on the travel itself, as well as sports activities, such as fishing or water-skiing. ?
