BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:-//wp-events-plugin.com//7.3.5//EN TZID:Europe/London X-WR-TIMEZONE:Europe/London BEGIN:VEVENT UID:191@roystonphotographicsociety.co.uk DTSTART;TZID=Europe/London:20180222T194500 DTEND;TZID=Europe/London:20180222T220000 DTSTAMP:20180222T131300Z URL:https://roystonphotographicsociety.co.uk/events/rps-meeting-2-2018-02- 22/ SUMMARY:RPS Meeting -Model Practical Night DESCRIPTION:From Paul:\n \;This week we have a photo shoot with 2 dance rs.\nThis can be an opportunity to capture some motion photography and to be more creative with that than a portrait shot would normally allow.Pleas e bring your cameras with charged batteries.\n \;\nCamera settings and gear\nThe initial camera settings you may find useful might be:\nSet to A uto focus and continuous auto focus may be preferable\,\nSet your camera t o burst or continuous shots\,\nAperture setting between f/2.8-f/4.\nISO I suggest to 1600 but it depends on your camera\,\nShutter speed at 1/500 bu t you may want to set for faster.Obviously you may need to adapt settings to your camera and the environment as well as the look that you want.I sug gest that you bring a tripod however you should certainly be prepared to m ove around to get the best shots as you will want to capture their faces.\ n\n\n \;As there is motion involved I would suggest you bring a lens t hat focuses reasonably quickly.\n\n\nYou may find more dramatic shots if y ou are at a low angle also.\n\n\n \;\nLighting\nI would like to set up 2 studio rigs and so I need club members to help with getting the equipme nt out and setting up the backdrops. \;\n \;\nRemember that an ele ctrical socket is needed and we should take care where we place the leads so that these are not a trip hazard. Help will be needed to put it all awa y too.\n \;\nWe may need to use two rooms and if so your help is neede d to move chairs and tables and to put them back at the end of the evening . Photos before we move furniture etc may be needed so that we can put it all back into in its right place!\n \;\nThe lighting rig set up that I want to try and use is as follows:\n\n\nAlthough we will probably have on ly have two lights (one soft box light at the side and one at front).\n&nb sp\;If we have a grid to add to the soft box that may help stop too much l ight hitting the background.\n\n \;\n\n\n\n \;\nPhotos\nIn order t o have the dancers at a relatively low price we have offered to provide th em with images from club members. I will set up a Dropbox and am happy to receive them by email or memory/usb stick over the next fortnight (put you r name on the usb stick though!).
