External Competitions

On what we know 9.11.25 this our schedule for external competitions for this season:

12.11.25 Ely, 4 prints, 4 PDI, 8 clubs. Prints & PDI already selected as outlined at our club night 6.11.25.

24.1.26 Whittlesford, 6 genrè specific PDI plus a tie breaker, up to 20 clubs.

Feb ’26 EAF PDI, 25 PDI

26.2.26 Melbourne Battle, 12 prints, 12 PDI plus a reserve.

28.2.26 St Ives Interclub, 6 prints, 30 clubs.

March ’26, EAF Print competition, 15 prints.

12.4.26 PICO, 10 PDI, 6 clubs

No date yet Bishops Stortford, 10 PDI, 6 clubs

Ely & PICO are both new competitions, meaning we are able to use any member pictures. All the rest are competitions Mark has entered us to previously and the pictures he used cannot be used again. That illustrates that there is plenty of opportunity for all members to get their best images onto the rota to represent Royston. The route to a representative picture starts with a ‘held back’ in a club competition.

We have held one ‘critique night’ with Carmen to show members thoughts on improving existing pictures, plus more thoughts at club night of the 6th November ’25, together with a route to generating critiques & suggestions for improvement via Chat GPT. Around the turn of the year I will arrange for another evening with a local photographer & judge who has also offered to help us improve competition pictures. 

As results come in, they will be added to this page of the website.
